What is vacuum?
Vacuum is a pressure that is less than the ambient air pressure. For example, if a draft gauge installed downstream of a steam boiler’s water economizer shows a vacuum of 300 Pa (30 mm H2O), this means that the exhaust gas pressure from the economizer is less than the ambient air pressure by 300 Pa (30 mm H2O).
