Pulyaevsky – Hydrogasdynamics – Methodological instructions
Fluid dynamics is a branch of fluid mechanics that studies the fundamental laws of motion and equilibrium of both liquid and gaseous fluids at subsonic and supersonic speeds. The foundation for studying fluid dynamics is mastery of mathematical analysis methods and a thorough understanding of the fundamental laws of physics, theoretical mechanics, thermodynamics, and heat and mass transfer theory.
Knowledge of the laws of fluid dynamics is essential for solving many technical issues in plumbing, construction, hydraulic engineering, safety engineering, fire safety, industrial ecology, and general ecology. Calculating pipelines for various purposes (air ducts, water pipes, gas pipelines), designing hydraulic and air-blowing machines (pumps, compressors, and fans), calculating ventilation and heating systems, determining wind loads on buildings and structures, and solving a wide range of other engineering problems require a thorough understanding of the laws of fluid dynamics.
