Гуревич - Справочник по сварке цветных металловGurevich – Reference book on welding of non-ferrous metals

The book Gurevich – Reference book on welding of non-ferrous metals contains reference data on the physical and chemical properties and weldability of structural non-ferrous metals and alloys based on them. The characteristics of the main methods of welding non-ferrous metals are given. The technology and technique of welding joints made of metals and alloys of different types and methods of quality control are described. The properties of welded joints are considered.

In the second edition, all thermal reactions were revised and clarified in connection with the release of new standard values of the thermodynamic functions of individual substances. The entire directory is brought into compliance with the new GOSTs and standards for grades, properties and welding of non-ferrous metals. New ways of quarreling, which were not sufficiently reflected in the previous edition, are considered. Expanded materials on the corrosion resistance of welded joints of non-ferrous metals, as well as on the welding of dissimilar non-ferrous metals and non-ferrous metals with ferrous metals

Book Gurevich – Reference book on welding of non-ferrous metals for scientific and engineering workers engaged in the creation of welded structures from non-ferrous metals; may be useful to teachers and students of universities.

Seal by decision of the academic council of the Institute of Electric Welding named after E. O. Paton of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR and the decision of the editorial board of reference literature of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR

One of the directions determining the further development of the economy is the reduction of material intensity, the increase of the technical level and quality of machine-building products based on the use of new structural materials, including non-ferrous metals. In connection with this, the production of welded structures, as well as components and mechanisms made of non-ferrous metals, the performance of which is largely determined by the quality of welded joints, is increasing.

Difficulties in welding non-ferrous metals are associated with their physical and chemical properties. Along with the traditional methods of laser, electron beam, plasma and micro-plasma welding, electroslag welding, pressure in a vacuum and other methods, it is possible to successfully use non-ferrous metals and alloys based on them for the production of welded products of responsible use.

Prepared by S. M. Gurevich “Handbook on welding of non-ferrous metals” (Kyiv, 1981— 608 p.) is a unique publication that has no analogues in world practice, in which, from a single position, the first attempt was made to generalize the experience of welding all non-ferrous metals and their alloys that are used in various branches of the national economy. Since ten years have passed since the publication of the directory. there was a need to rework it, which was carried out by a group of close students and employees of S. M. Gurevich.

In the second edition of the book Gurevich – Reference book on welding of non-ferrous metals, all chapters of the reference book have been revised with the aim of eliminating some outdated provisions and partially updating the drawings and the bibliography. At the same time, it was considered necessary to preserve the drawings of the first edition as much as possible. Some links to fundamental literary sources that have retained their scientific significance have also been left.

In the second edition, all thermodynamic reactions were revised due to the publication of new standard values. In the reissue, the unified SI system, new standards and GOSTs for basic and welding materials are used. New ways of quarreling that have been used since the publication of the first edition of the handbook are also discussed.

A new chapter on welding of dissimilar non-ferrous metals as well as non-ferrous metals with ferrous metals is included in the Gurevich reference book – Reference book on welding of non-ferrous metals. Materials related to the selection of non-ferrous structural metals for the manufacture of chemical equipment have been revised. Much attention is paid to the corrosion resistance of welded joints.

In the reference book Gurevich – Reference book on the welding of non-ferrous metals, only basic information on the welding of non-ferrous metals is given. For some of them, there is special domestic and foreign literature. The reader can find more detailed information in the literature on this topic, a list of which is given at the end of the book. This will allow you to familiarize yourself more fully with the issues under consideration.

The outlined principles and the most typical approaches to welding non-ferrous metals are useful to designers, technologists, metallurgists and specialists in other related specialties for a better understanding of the problems associated with the selection and use of non-ferrous metals, as well as the development of their welding technology…
