Vergazov – Design and operation of boilers
Vergazov’s book, “The Design and Operation of Boilers,” describes the design of steam and hot water boilers, furnaces for burning solid, liquid, and gaseous fuels, and the design of feedwater and circulating boilers for fuel combustion. It also examines the rules for supervising steam boilers. The 3rd edition was published in 1980 under the title “The Boiler Operator’s Companion.” The 4th edition has been revised and supplemented with information on new equipment.
Vergazov’s book, “The Design and Operation of Boilers,” is intended for operators of steam and hot water boilers in heating and industrial boiler houses.
In our country, thousands of small and medium-capacity boiler plants, equipped with a wide variety of steam and hot water boilers and water heaters, operate to supply steam and water to housing and utilities and industrial enterprises.
They are serviced by tens of thousands of operators, mechanics, and electricians.
To ensure boiler units operate smoothly and efficiently, fully utilizing their design features, maximizing efficiency, and avoiding downtime, they must be operated by highly qualified operators who are familiar with the boiler unit’s structure and the interactions between its components, including boiler electrical equipment, automation, advanced safe boiler control methods, safe work practices, potential malfunctions and troubleshooting methods, and boiler maintenance procedures.
The book “Boiler Design and Operation” is intended for boiler operators in housing and utility services and industrial enterprises with low- and medium-capacity boilers. The purpose of this book is to help operators consolidate the knowledge they acquired in vocational training schools.
